LEGO® WW1 Front-line Trench | Diorama
In WW1 the warfare quickly became static and soldiers dug in and so trench warfare began. The formation of trenches was very sophisticated. At the front Front-Line trenches were the most defended due to amount of gunfire and artillery fire landing in the trenches. Fortifications were machine gun posts, sandbags and barbed wire to stop the enemy from advancing. During periods of heavy rain the trenches became very bogged down and muddy. There was very little vegatation on the battlefield.
