The Renault FT was widely used by French forces in 1918 and by the American Expeditionary Forces (AEF) on the Western Front in the closing stages of World War I. Over 3,000 Renault FT tanks were manufactured by France, most of them in 1918. After World War I, FT tanks were exported in large numbers. Copies and derivative designs were manufactured in the United States. The Mark IV was first used in large numbers on 7 June 1917, during the British assault on Messines Ridge. And nearly 460 Mark IV tanks were used during the Battle of Cambrai in November 1917. To remember the brave men which fought in these newly invented machines called the Mark IV tanks, we have made a 1/45 scale model of the Mark IV in Lego. The LCT 7074 is the only surviving Landing Craft Tank. It played a crucial part in landing personnel, equipment and tanks onto the beaches of Normandy on D-Day. The LCT 7074 is now apart of The D-Day Story Museum - Portsmouth.
